The NIDEK ME-1 Multifunction Edger is a next-generation lens edging system designed to deliver exceptional precision, versatility, and efficiency for modern optical practices and laboratories. As NIDEK’s flagship retail edger, it combines advanced processing capabilities with user-friendly operation, making it ideal for handling a wide range of lens types and frame styles.
Engineered for complex and specialty eyewear, the ME-1 supports step and partial step beveling up to 11 mm, enabling accurate fitting of lenses into sport and high-curve frames. Its variable step angle control ensures uniform bevel width across the lens, maintaining consistency even in challenging geometries.
The system features high base curve and custom beveling powered by NIDEK’s independent front and rear grinding technology, allowing precise control over bevel position and shape. This ensures optimal aesthetics and fit for premium eyewear designs, including trapezoidal and specialty bevels.
With automatic 3D drilling and a tilt range of 0–30 degrees, the ME-1 supports a wide variety of rimless and custom frame designs. It can process multiple hole types such as slots, notches, and counterbored holes with high accuracy, enhancing both functionality and visual appeal.
The ME-1 also unlocks creative freedom through its design cut functionality, enabling the production of unique lens shapes based on blocker input. Combined with partial grooving and beveling, it offers unmatched flexibility for customized lens finishing.
